Postgraduate Open Days and Events

Choosing to study a Master’s degree is a big decision.

From learning how postgraduate study could help further your career, to working out how you can finance your studies, there is lots to think about.

We know that the amount of information there is to wade through can be overwhelming and that your time is precious.

So, we have broken our Virtual Open Day down into bitesize chunks that you can pick and choose from to get the answers you need.

Our new series of live and interactive virtual events are running this autumn to help you learn about Northumbria and what one of our Master’s degrees could offer you.

You can pick and choose the ones that interest you, and dive into our NU World, to ask us the questions you need answers to, and explore becoming part of Northumbria.

Each event will have live panels where you can interact with our staff and students, and live chat lounges where you can chat directly to us.

Plus, we have put together a wealth of video content about how you will learn, what you will love, and where you will live, that you can explore on the day or bookmark for later.

Your Learning Experience

Our inspirational academics lead the way in their fields, pursuing new thinking, finding new solutions and having a remarkable impact on the World.

Did you know, for example, our pioneering people helped develop rapid testing for Ebola, are researching ice sheets to predict how sea levels might rise, and are helping to make the fashion industry more sustainable?

Our Learning Experience events will help you discover how Northumbria is leading the way in your subject, meet some of the academics you might be taught by, and hear from current students about their experiences.

There’ll also be the chance to explore further through virtual tours, watch our researchers talk about their ground-breaking discoveries and see in-depth video content about some of our courses.

Your Home

Whilst we might not be able to explore our vibrant city-centre campus at the moment, that doesn’t mean we can’t show you more about the place you’ll call home.

You’ll be able to connect with our accommodation team about the different options for living on campus at our live panel and have the opportunity to ask questions.

You’ll also be able to explore videos to learn more about why Newcastle is consistently voted the Best Student City in the UK and take virtual tours of our campus and accommodation.

Your Community

When you join a university, you want to belong.

This session will help show you the things you will love doing as part of the Northumbria community.

You’ll have a chance to interact with Student Union reps and current students at our live panel, to hear more about our clubs and societies and other opportunities to get involved in university life.

From volunteering to student media, there’s something for everybody here at Northumbria and we’ve also carefully collated a selection of videos to give you a flavour of what’s on offer.

Your Future

Coming to university can transform your life.

And at Northumbria everything we do is centred around helping you get where you want to be.

This live event will give you a chance to connect with our staff and students to hear about how we put employability first.

You can learn more about placements, study abroad opportunities and how so many of our students get the chance to put their learning into action with live projects for real organisations.

Your Money

Getting a degree is an investment in your future.

We can help you navigate your options for funding your studies and connect you with our special advisors through our live panel or live chat.

You can also find out about student loans available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students and any scholarships we might have available.

Our Advice

This is the session for you if you would like some help with the practicalities of applying for university.

You can join our live panel to hear hints on how to apply and tips for writing personal statements.

And we will be providing help with jargon-busting so you can make sense of how applying to university works.

You can also explore some video guides we have put together to help you through the application process.
