International Short Programme

Northumbria University are giving you the opportunity to live abroad for 4-8 weeks next summer! Students who have graduated within the last 12 months are invited to participate in an International Short Programme, where you can have a rewarding experience working or volunteering in an exciting new country. Last academic year we were able to offer 27 different programmes across 20 different countries including Fiji, Indonesia and Mexico!

These programmes are a fantastic way to improve your employability by gaining new skills and demonstrating to employers your willingness to go outside your comfort zone.

The International Mobility Team are able to support graduates with generous funding through the Turing scheme, which can make a significant contribution towards financing your experience abroad. Funding is available to all students who are within 12 months of graduating, however the amount of funding depends on your chosen programme, and varies depending on whether you meet widening participation criteria.

Applications for Summer 2025 will open in November, at which point you can browse all the available International Short Programme options and submit your application. Don’t miss your chance to have a partially funded experience living abroad next summer!
