MSc Clinical Exercise Physiology

HLS_Michael -White _Student _Clinical -Exercise -PsychologyWhat appealed to you about studying in Newcastle?

I am originally from Newcastle and have friends and family here so didn’t want to move away. Northumbria provided a high-quality establishment nearby that was investing in its own and its students’ futures.

Why did you choose this course?

It appeared to be a highly focused course in an area of science dealing with current health issues. The course is focused on working in the clinical environment and so should help with getting a job which was important to
me. The fact that it was based on a health background as opposed to sports was
also important.

What do you like most about the course?

The practical aspects of the course are the most interesting as it is learning skills that would be necessary to working in a clinical environment. Getting that hands on experience with the equipment is also more fun than lectures.

How do you get on with your tutors?

The tutors are very friendly, engaging and show their passion for the work they are doing. What would you like to do when you graduate? Ideally I would like to work in a clinical environment, working with people to get them healthier and able to lead better lives. However, since starting the course, the idea of working in research has grown on me.

What three words would you use to describe yourm time at Northumbria?

Friendly, interesting, worthwhile.
