Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Great Business School and proximity to home.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I feel Newcastle has plenty to offer as a student city. It has plenty of independent restaurants, bars and clubs. Plenty of leisure activities and plenty of sights and places to visit. I think that for a small city it has loads of things to do.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The price of living was really surprising and how friendly the locals are. What impressed me the most was the housing areas are specific to student making a real student community.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

The university was very welcoming and events and halls made it very easy to meet people.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

The local people and University life.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My friends and lecturers have helped me the most offering support throughout my time there.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

The lectures.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Newcastle Business School and the Union since these are the only places I really go on a day to day basis.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I have tried out for the football team in second year, but played the worst game of my life and in a position I wasn't comfortable. However, I played in the University intramural league which was a personal highlight.

What is the best thing about your course?

Accessibility to information and tutors.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Throw yourself into situations you may not be comfortable with.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I would like to go into Sales and feel Northumbria has given me the skills to make this transition much easier.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I have been on placement this year in London, which was one of the best experiences of my life and has cemented the fact that I want to live in London after University. I feel the best experience is the community that is created with all IP's and Graduates plus all the events that are available.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Go to Glenamara Halls and try to get to know as many people as you can.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I'm more confident.

Fun, Interesting, Exciting!

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?
