Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

Fantastic nursing course.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Wonderful! I love the museums and Centre for Life.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

Surprised at the amount available to do.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, everyone is very friendly.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Meeting new people.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

Fellow students and staff members.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

The Nursing lecturers are all an inspiration as to what I can achieve.

What is your favourite place on campus?

The library is where all the magic happens, understanding the theory from lectures.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I am currently part of the learning leaders peer mentoring the first year mnurs students. Also through the course have had the opportunitiy to become a dementia friend.

What is the best thing about your course?

The opportunitity to meet a wide variety of professionals and learn from their past experiences.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

I have learned my abilities are far greater than I had first thourght.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I wish to gain my registration as a RGN. To further my career I feel I would like to work towards becoming a sexual health nurse and possibly return to lecturing the students of the future in later years.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

Working interproffesionaly on ward and community based placements gain a greater experience of holistic care from all professions.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Go for it. It's the start of your future! 

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have developed many of my skills and feel more confident a person since attending Northumbria.

Fantastic, opportunity, challenging
