Postgraduate Research

Farag -mousaThere is a growing demand for bandwidth in wireless communication systems due to the growing use of mobile users, computer network applications, high-speed Internet access and the variety of services. Optical wireless communication (OWC) is a new technology and offers a viable solution for such next generation of wireless communication. OWC has many advantages, for example, a license-free spectrum, high-speed data rate, and relatively low cost. A VLC system is one of OWC types that can provide three functionalities of illumination, high-speed data transmission, and indoor localization.  There are many techniques for positioning of indoor systems including techniques using LED that are the alike techniques that have been employed in Wi-Fi networks. In this research, we are working on a model for indoor cellular that emphasize in localization and developing the security model for VLC system.
