Interior Design

Bella WebWhy did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I chose the University purely for my course. I had heard many great things about Interior Design at Northumbria and how well respected it is as a course in the UK.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I live in Jesmond which is possibly one of the nicest places a student can live in the UK, so that was a really nice surprise moving out of halls and going into a nice community. The architecture of the buildings surprised my hugely.  I have been impressed most by how helpful and kind the locals are. Down South where I am from - no one is willing to help!

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My Tutors on my course have helped me tremendously as well as my ski coach.

What is the best thing about your course?

The one to one tutorial time we get.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

I went on a Trip to New York in January with my course. It was a really good trip, we visited many tourist attractions in NY as well as visiting beneficial things for our course. We visited a top Interior Design practice in NY to see how they work as a business. This was an amazing opportunity to see they difference between a UK and American company.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have become a more free thinking open minded individuals. It has taught me time management to work hard on my course and still allow time to socialise. I have become more confident and independent.
