Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I liked the course and location - Newcastle seemed like a great student city and also not too expensive to live.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I love the area - I feel very proud of living in Newcastle! I enjoy shopping in Eldon Square, and also trips further afield such as to Alnwick Castle.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The friendliness of the locals is fantastic - I know Geordies are stereotypically friendly but they really are! I'm impressed by how easy it is to get around town - and as a student without a car that is very important to me.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

The staff at Northumbria were very welcoming when I first arrived and made it easy to fit in.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

I've enjoyed student living - living with your friends is so much fun!

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Certain lecturers have been very inspirational.

What is your favourite place on campus?

Northumberland Cafe.

What is the best thing about your course?

Connections with the PR industry.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Independence, organisation and confidence.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to be a Press Officer which links directly with what I have learnt on my course.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I completed my placement year at the head office of Kia Motors UK which was a fantastic experience. My most memorable moments were having press releases picked up in the news and travelling to work on international events.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Arrange your student accommodation as soon as you can to avoid losing out on the best options!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I am definitely more confident, independent and more organised person.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Hard-work, rewarding, fun!

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes!
