2016/17 Part-time Undergraduate Fees (Home)

Information regarding tuition fees for part-time courses

Tuition fees for home applicants

Fees for part-time courses (undergraduate and postgraduate) vary according to their length. To obtain the most accurate tuition fee information for a specific course, please search for it in our course directory, then look for the Fees tab near the end of the individual course information page.

Fees can be paid in full at enrolment or by 6 equal monthly instalments by Direct Debit where the fee is greater than £600.00. If a student is being sponsored by their employer, the university will require proof of sponsorship.

Tuition Fee Loans
Part-time students studying for an undergraduate course won't have to pay any tuition fees up front and will be eligible to apply for a Tuition Fee Loan. The Tuition Fee Loan isn't based on household income and there's no upper age limit for applying.

To qualify you must be studying a course intensity of at least 25% of the full-time equivalent per year, taking no more than four times the time it would take to complete the course if studied full-time (up to a maximum of 16 years).

You can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan of up to £6,750, and the amount you get depends on your course intensity and the cost of the fees charged by your university. If you already hold a qualification equal to or higher than the one you are studying for you won't normally be eligible for a Tuition Fees Loan.

You'll be due to start repaying your loan in the April four years after the start of your course. You'll only start making repayments if your income is more than £21,000 per year. If you leave or finish your course before April 2016 then you won't start making repayments until after this date.

More information and an application form can be found on the Student Finance England website www.slc.co.uk/england. You can apply now and should return your application to Student Finance England as soon as possible to ensure your finance is in place for the start of the course. After your application has been processed by Student Finance England they will send you a Student Finance Entitlement letter with your customer reference number (CRN) which you should quote whenever you contact them. Student Finance England will pay your tuition fees direct to your university.

Part-time students with a disability, long-term health condition or a specific learning difficulty may be able to get extra help through Disabled Students Allowance.
