You can follow the below application process to browse availability and start a booking for January 2025:

1. Confirm your course offer with Northumbria University.

If you are applying via UCAS, please log into your UCAS Hub and ensure your course offer is updated. If you are applying via Clearing or Adjustment, please log into UCAS Track and refer yourself to confirm your course offer. Please note this might take up-to 48h to be updated on the University system.

If you are a direct entry applicant, please visit the Applicant Portal to review and accept your course offer. To learn more about the process and the required steps, you can visit the After You Apply page.

2. Visit the Student Portal and log in to the Accommodation section where you can start your booking.

Wait up-to 48 hours for your course acceptance to be recorded and using your applicant portal login details (you will have received this via email when you applied) select the Accommodation section to start your application.

Top Tip: Make sure you register with your personal email address and not one associated to a school/college. School/College email addresses are often closed after you leave and can delay the process.

Lost your login details? Get in touch with our team by calling 0191 227 4209 or contact the IT team using IT Chat

3. Select your accommodation.

Browse availability in real time and select the room you're interested in based on the building's floorplan.
Did you know, during the booking process you can click on a space marked in red and learn more about your future flatmates - you can see their age, nationality, course details and flat preference.

4. Review and accept your room offer.

You are required to sign a tenancy agreement to accept and confirm your accommodation booking. This is completed online and you receive a confirmation email with all relevant documents.

Top Tip: Make sure you read your contract carefully as it is a legally binding contract. If you don’t understand anything, get in touch, we will be happy to run through it with you.

5. Pay your advance rent payment

The final step of your booking is making an advance rent payment of £250*. Once the payment has been made, the room is secured for you. This payment is part of your total accommodation cost and is used towards your final rent payment.
Once you've completed the process above, the room is secured for you. You will also get access to our dedicated Facebook groups to help you connect with flatmates before you arrive.
*The advance rent payment may vary depending on the residence you book.
