Who are these courses for?

These programmes are ideal if your academic qualifications meet the requirements for your chosen undergraduate or postgraduate course, but your English language level falls below the entry requirements of the academic course you wish to join.

How long should I expect to study on Pre-sessional English and Study Skills before I can enter my chosen degree programme?

You will usually expect to study for 6 weeks or one semester (11-12 weeks). Expected length of study will depend on your English language level when you apply and the English language level you need to enter your degree programme. The table below shows the length of time you should expect to study on Pre-sessional English and Study Skills before you can achieve the grades required to enter your chosen degree programme.

Please note that these are guidelines only. Progression onto your chosen degree programme is not guaranteed and the rate of progression may differ depending on the student.
