The University has a long history of accepting Ghanaian students onto its degree programmes; examples in recent years include Biotechnology, Built Environment, Business Information Management, Construction Project Management, Engineering, Law, Nursing Science, Project Management, Public Health and many more.Ghana

Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.

For Entry On To: You Will Need: Grade Required:
International Foundation Programme

WAEC (WASSCE)/ NECO - A to D grades in 5 subjects

A to D grades in 5 subjects

1st Year Undergraduate Polytechnic National Diploma    
Level 5 Entry University Diploma   
Level 6 Entry Polytechnic Higher National Diploma   
Postgraduate Programmes  Bachelor Degree Second class lower / 50% / C / 2.0 for courses requiring a 2:2

Second class upper / 60% / B / 3.0 for courses requiring a 2:1
Graduate Certificate Bachelor Degree 1.5/4.0 CGPA or 40% (pass) 

Please note these are general entry guidelines.  Actual requirements may vary depending on your chosen course of study and certain courses may have specific or additional entry requirements, full details of which can be found by clicking our Course link.  Decisions for entry will also be based on personal statements, previous study information and not just your final course grading.
