Click Metal Complexes

Metal complexes that can be easily “clicked” to biomolecules under physiological conditions.

These “click metal complexes” can act as reporters or even as probes, sending out luminescent signals to identify particular biomolecules or cells. They therefore have a broad range of potential applications in cytometry in biomolecular imaging and characterising cells, as a tool to help scientists and clinicians in understanding the cellular basis of health and disease. Cytometry applications include luminescent cytometry and mass cytometry (CyTof) – which uses antibodies tagged with metals that bind to certain features inside or on the surface of the cell, and Mass Spectrometry as opposed to luminescence detection for analysis. They also have additional applications in medical imaging and tissue targeted therapies. This technology is patent pending.
