As Registrar, Melanie has responsibility for the strategic leadership and management of academic administration; taking the lead in determining professional support for programme planning, delivery and management within the Faculty of Business and Law. She also has responsibility for the professional support in the Business Clinic and the Student Law Office which sit within the Faculty of Business and Law.
Melanie was previously School Registrar in the School of Life Sciences and prior to that, the School of Applied Sciences where her responsibilities included leading and managing academic administration in addition to strategic planning and budget management.
She is actively involved in a national network of Faculty Registrars from numerous HE institutions, jointly hosting the inaugural event for the group with plans to host a future events in 2019. In addition to having worked at Northumbria for a number of years, Melanie is also an alumni, having graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. She is committed to working across the University in enhancing academic administration in line with the University's vision for the future.
