Dr Amit Kaushik

Dr Amit K Kaushik is an academic, researcher, and registered professional architect (India), currently an Assistant Professor at Northumbria University. He holds a PhD in Sustainable Construction Design and Management, an MSc in Construction Economics and Management, and a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons). Dr Kaushik also maintains membership with several professional bodies, including the Council of Architecture, India, the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists, UK, and the Higher Education Academy, UK.

Dr Kaushik has extensive teaching experience since 2013, leading various undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Architecture, Architectural Technologies, Building Information, and Sustainable Design. He has supervised numerous dissertations at both MSc and undergraduate levels and has seen a PhD completion under his supervision.

An active researcher, Dr Kaushik's work has been widely published in reputable journals, focusing on themes like Indoor Environment Quality, Sustainability, Occupant Behaviour, and AI applications in the built environment. His research projects have been granted substantial funding, with roles varying from participant to primary investigator.

Dr Kaushik has been invited to deliver presentations at several national and international conferences and has actively participated in workshops and events related to his field. His contributions have been acknowledged with several awards, including a special mention for an outstanding design thesis during his final year of architecture study. He has also been a visiting research scholar at the University of California, Berkeley.

In addition to his academic and research activities, Dr Kaushik is a journal reviewer for several prominent publications in the field, such as Architecture Engineering and Design Management, Building and Environment, Applied Ergonomics, and others. His rich professional journey, spanning practical architecture work in India and extensive academic roles in the UK, provides a strong foundation for his teaching and research.
