Ts. Sr. Dr. Puteri Nur Farah Naadia is a senior lecturer at the Department of Quantity Surveying, Faculty of Engineering and Environment, Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Dr. Puteri Nur Farah Naadia previously served as an assistant professor and HWO dissertation coordinator in the Department of Quantity Surveying/Construction Project Management (QSCPM) at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM). She has also served as the Program Director of QSCPM from October 2021 to July 2023, managing Bachelor Programmes in Quantity Surveying and Construction Project Management as well as Postgraduate Programmes in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, and Construction Project Management. Dr. Puteri Nur Farah Naadia obtained her Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Honours) degree from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2010, and in 2014, she successfully upgraded her Master's program to acquire a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Built Environment. Her doctoral research meticulously investigated takaful for construction works, paving the way for a valuable contribution to her field. Furthermore, she furthered her expertise with post-doctoral studies at the prestigious International Shari'ah Research Academy (ISRA), Malaysia, and in 2018, she attended the distinguished Durham Islamic Finance Summer School at Durham University.
Dr. Puteri Nur Farah Naadia possesses extensive expertise in technical matters, teaching, and leadership. Currently, she is in the process of attaining recognition as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Her wealth of experience in pedagogy and a multitude of publications cover a wide range of subjects including construction management, procurement, insurance, contract administration, risk and risk management, takaful and micro-takaful in engineering and technology, Shariah-compliant insurance and risk management in construction procurement, contract administration, and quantity surveying. Her commitment is further exemplified by her role as Deputy Chair of Research Ethics at Heriot-Watt University. Additionally, Dr. Puteri Nur FarahNaadia serves as a panel member for the RICS Technical Working Committee on the RICS Global Construction Standards and as an external examiner for the School of Engineering and Computing at INTI College. She served as a member of the Procurement and Project Delivery System Research Unit at the International Islamic University Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur and on the committee of the Journal of Quantity Surveying and Construction Business. She was also honored with an invitation to serve as a visiting academic at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh in 2022, as well as at Kyoto University Graduate School of Management in 2017.
Dr. Puteri Nur Farah Naadia has successfully completed multiple research projects related to risk management frameworks and housing development. She has collaborated with the prestigious Institut Penilaian Negara (INSPEN) on significant projects, such as the Comprehensive Guideline on Design and Planning (Quality and Standards) of Low-Cost Housing for Shariah Compliance, as well as the Development of an Innovative Model to Empower Wakaf Authorities in the Provision of Affordable Housing. Presently, her research efforts are focused on the intricate domain of micro-takaful properties for low-income groups in Malaysia. Recognizing her expertise, she has earned professional memberships, including being designated as a Chartered Surveyor and a member of the esteemed Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a Professional Member of the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia (BQSM), a Member of the QS Division of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), an Applicant Member of the CIOB, a Professional Technologist (MBOT), and an Associate Junior Member of the Chartered Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals (CIIF).
Apart from her outstanding academic achievements, Dr. Puteri Nur Farah Naadia also boasts invaluable industry experience, having been involved in the development and construction of exemplary projects such as Monash University Malaysia and the Emerald West Plan in Rawang during her tenure at Juruukur Bahan Malaysia (JUBM).
