Katharine Davies

Assistant Professor

Department: Northumbria Law School

Katharine is responsible for delivering the Equity and Trusts modules on the FT undergraduate programmes. She is also the Programme Leader for the LLB (Hons) Completion Award.

Katharine has written a text book for students, Equity and Trusts, which is in its 4th Edition (2025) with Hall & Stott Publishers.

Katharine previously taught Equity and Trusts on the Graduate Diploma in Law (FT and DL), Law of Business Associations to third year undergraduate students on the Exempting Degree and Business Law and Intellectual Property Law on the Legal Practice Course.

Katharine has extensive experience within the department from running careers provision on the undergraduate law programmes, overseeing student guidance support within the law school and as programme leader of the Graduate Diploma in Law by Distance Learning.

Katharine is a Senior Fellow of the HEA and acts as a HEA mentor to new staff.  She is also a Reviewer of HEA applications within the University.

She has also completed the HEA Professional Development Course for External Examiners (February 2018) and is currently an External Examiner at Nottingham Trent University, School of Law.

Katharine's research interests lie in the area of Equity and Trusts, including the law of Fiduciaries.
