Earn a Paid Internship for After Study

Starting your career can be tough and that’s why we are proud to enhance the employability of our London Campus postgraduate students by providing a range of opportunities to help you develop your business skills and prepare you for your career whilst studying. Courses at Northumbria University London Campus are designed to be as interactive and informative as possible. We draw upon directed learning to ensure our students understand how their skills have developed and most importantly, how they can translate this learning into skills and behaviour sought by employers. Read on to find out how you can get involved with our employability scheme whilst studying at Northumbria University London Campus, and be eligible to apply for a paid internship after study.

Employability Skills Audit

Our London Campus Employability team work with our students to carry out an employability skills audit, bespoke to student’s individual career aspirations. Skills gaps are mapped onto our programme of employability related activities. These include mock assessment centres, CV preparation support and mock interviews along with seminars led by graduate recruiters and major employers.

Employer Led Consultancy Project

All postgraduate students are encouraged to get involved in a group consultancy project addressing live business problems for real businesses. This project involves a real business issue being presented to students, who are tasked to provide potential solutions and present them back to the business. Where appropriate the winner of this project will be given the opportunity to work with the business to help implement their proposed solution. We believe this is a great way for our students to develop their employability skills and engage with real businesses in preparation for life after postgraduate study. It’s also a chance for you to demonstrate your skills and hard work to potential employers.

Guaranteed Internship Opportunity

Students with high levels of attendance and attainment that have completed the Employer Led Group Consultancy Project will be eligible to apply for a guaranteed internship opportunity. This will be a 6 week paid internship with a client company. This is a huge opportunity for our post graduate students to gain valuable work experience with major companies that could assist them in launching their career.
