Northumbria University, City Campus East, Room 401

Tuesday January 14

Prof. Martyna Sliwa, Durham University

Building inclusive organisations: Research, practice and values

The seminar will combine research insights with reflections on practical experiences of building more inclusive and equitable organisations. Professor Martyna Śliwa will discuss her research addressing equality, diversity, inclusivity and respect in UK higher education. She will also provide examples of specific initiatives aimed at increasing organisational inclusivity, which she has led on in her capacity as Vice Chair of the British Academy of Management for Equality, Diversity, Inclusivity and Respect, and as Associate Dean for Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability at Durham University Business Schools. The seminar will provide an opportunity to reflect on whether and why we need more inclusive and equitable organisations, and to discuss what works, what doesn’t work, and what still needs to be done.
