Get qualified in one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK

Apply NowDemand for digital marketing skills is outstripping supply, salaries are rising and job opportunities are increasing in both creative and technical roles.

The digital sector is set to be worth £200 billion to the UK economy by 2025, and the digital sectors are creating jobs 2.8 times faster than the rest of the economy.

“Anyone looking at the job market today can tell you that digital marketing skills are a must-have on your CV, so at Northumbria University we have developed our Digital Marketing MSc programme in collaboration with business partners and professional bodies,” said programme leader Vignesh Yoganathan.

“The programme design reflects all of the latest development in the field, and is geared towards the needs of the digital marketing industry.”

Students will explore areas including location-based marketing, user experience, customer journey mapping and mobile marketing.

The programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing and allows students the chance to work towards professional marketing qualifications on graduation through the CIM's IDM's graduate gateway.

Focusing on the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in modern marketing, students will build a portfolio of materials to present to future employers including created web content, video content, profile infographics, customer journey maps, campaign proposals and analytics.

Paige Wheeler from the United States (pictured) chose the Digital Marketing MSc at Northumbria because of the reputation of the University’s Newcastle Business School, she said:

“The staff here are awesome, they are helpful, they’re encouraging they are motivating and they are extremely knowledgeable.

“I definitely want to go into digital marketing when I graduate, and I think I would like to focus on the creative side of digital campaigns.

“The course has also equipped me with so many skills on the technical side though, including analytics, marketing metrics and SEO, so I feel like I will be employable no matter where I go or what I decide to do.”

The Digital Marketing MSc at Northumbria University is a one-year full-time programme which starts in September. For more information or to apply visit: www.northumbria.ac.uk/digitalmarketing
