Women's Sport and Wellbeing Summit 2025

Join us at Northumbria University, City Campus East, on June 3rd (9:30 AM – 4:30 PM) for a free one-day summit dedicated to tackling inequalities and inequities in women’s sport and wellbeing.

Hear from leading experts in sport and health, from both academia and industry, as they share their ongoing research and applied strategies aimed at driving real change in women’s sport and wellbeing.

Keynote Speakers:

Kelly Gordon – Driving Change with NETBALLHer

We are delighted to welcome Kelly Gordon, Director of Development at England Netball, as a keynote speaker at the Women’s Sport and Wellbeing Summit 2025. Kelly leads NETBALLHer, a pioneering campaign with The Well HQ that prioritizes female health, education, and performance in sport. Since its 2023 launch, NETBALLHer has gained national recognition, with Kelly presenting its impact to UK Parliament. At the summit, she will discuss the research, impact, and future of the campaign, including where further support is needed to scale up this work and provide women with the resources and care they need to thrive in sport.

Health and Wellbeing Speaker: To be confirmed.

In addition to our keynote speakers the Women’s Sport and Wellbeing summit will also feature:

•    Research Presentations & Posters: Engage with cutting-edge research through 15-minute presentations or poster sessions showcasing work that aligns with the aims of the Women’s Sport and Wellbeing Interdisciplinary Research Theme.

•    Networking & Collaboration: Connect with academics, researchers, external organisations, and key stakeholders working to improve sport and wellbeing outcomes for women and girls.

•    Future Funding & Research Opportunities: Facilitate new partnerships and generate fresh ideas for upcoming research and funding applications.
