Win a copy of graduate Chris K. Jones' new novel, Headcase!

American Exchange Programme alumnus and donor Chris K. Jones recently published his debut novel, Headcase. Dr. Andrew Beck is the go-to sports psychologist for troubled pro athletes. There isn't a head he can't fix - except his own. When his inner demons get the best of him, he misuses his insider access to athletes, and he is led down a dark path of blackmail, a mysterious murder, and life-or-death bluffing. His only way out is to go all-in.

Chris is a serial entrepreneur and a winner of multiple awards. After the sale of his company in 2019, he moved to Barbados in 2020 to focus on his writing. Chris always kept close ties to Newcastle and made several trips to the campus to share his experience in early-stage ventures and has lectured and supported the Entrepreneurial Studies Programme. In addition, his passion for creative writing inspired him to establish the Think Strong Creative Writing Scholarship to give back to Northumbria and inspire others to follow their creative writing dreams.

Researching and writing his first novel has had a profound effect on Chris' emotional and mental state as he had referred to writing Headcase as "the best form of therapy he has ever had." His primary goal for Headcase is to entertain his readers with a world from his imagination. Speaking of the book, Chris comments, "I hope they like my characters and feel empathy for them, and root for them. Secondly, if I could increase awareness that seeking help for mental health issues is an act of bravery and courage, that would make me very happy."

Headcase is now available to purchase on Amazon, and we are giving away a free copy of the book to two lucky alumni. To enter, send your name, course of study, and graduation date to alumni@northumbria.ac.uk.
