A bursary set up by alumnus Paul Winters, will provide a life enhancing opportunity for an incoming sociology student.

Paul Winters 2 Nov 2016Paul graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sociology in 1974 after studying at Northumbria University's predecessor institution, Newcastle Polytechnic, but has recently reconnected with his university.

Northumbria provides an outstanding student and learning experience, attracting the most talented students irrespective of background so this new bursary supports our ambition, enhances our student offer and enables Paul to give something back to his institution whilst reconnecting with current students.

Paul also recently visited Northumbria to provide a guest lecture to geography students in the area of consumer profiling which was both insightful and thought-provoking, and included career advice to help students focus on their futures.
