Paid International Internships in France: Exciting Opportunities open to graduates! 

We have two exciting opportunities for students and graduates to complete paid internships in association with our partner university, University Polytechnic Hauts-De-France in Valenciennes, France. 

Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) is a transdisciplinary institution promoting collaboration across faculties and research labs. Recognised regionally and internationally for excellence in sustainable transport and mobility, it partners with networks like EUNICE and Valenciennes hospital. UPHF has four research labs, including LAMIH UMR – CNRS 8201, housing 250 researchers across automatics, mechanics, computer science, and life sciences. 

Computer Science Internship 

The traineeship offer below is within the LAMIH UMR – CNRS 8201 (Laboratory of Industrial and Human Automation, Mechanics and Computer Science). It is a joint research unit between the Université Polytechnique Hauts de France (UPHF) and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), a national research centre led by the best in their fields. It is divided into 4 departments with a total of nearly 250 researchers, engineers and research support staff, both permanent and non-permanent: Automatics, Mechanics, Computer Science and Human and Life Sciences (SHV). 

Suitable for students and graduates with a background in automation, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field, with strong programming skills in Matlab, Python, or C. 

The programme runs for 7 weeks from 02/06/2025-18/07/2025 and pays the legal minimum bonus for an internship (approximately 650 euros per month.)

English Language Internship 

This English Language Assistant internship involves designing and delivering tailored English lessons for UPHF staff, including researchers and administrators, to enhance their professional communication skills. Responsibilities include one-on-one sessions, conversation workshops, and course preparation. Requirements include native-level English, strong communication skills, and teaching experience. French proficiency (B1+) is an advantage. 

Suitable for students and graduates on teaching, languages, humanities or management programmes. A B1 level in French is desirable, along with experience in teaching/designing education resources. 

There is one position available from March 2025, lasting 4-5 months and one position available from September 2025, lasting one semester. Starting date and duration to be discussed. The position pays around 650 euros per month.
