Graduate expands business to demonstrate AI’s capabilities in the medical field

Biomedical Sciences graduate Jack Parker founded AIATELLA in 2022 which is based between Newcastle and Helsinki in Finland. The medical software company has developed a novel AI framework which identifies, but more importantly quantifies, cardiovascular disease from medical imaging. This differentiation means clinicians can be provided with all the measurements and data required for them to make a rapid and accurate diagnostic/treatment decision. The innovation is also intended to enabling the scaling of preventative screening programmes, positively impacting healthcare inequalities across the UK.

After graduating from Biomedical Sciences in 2017, Jack spent time shadowing Doctors in the USA and in the North East regions hospitals, understanding some of the biggest problems in healthcare today. Arguably the biggest problem he discovered was the workforce shortage and set up AIATELLA which is now working with multiple players in the region, including NHS trusts and will soon be entering a research venture with Northumbria.
