Lemon Verbena Study

Lemon Verbena is a plant native to South America that is used as a food supplement in the EU. Our study aims to investigate the potential benefits of Lemon Verbena on mood, attention, concentration, and other aspects of brain performance in children and teenagers aged 8-17.

We are currently recruiting children and teenagers aged 8-17 for our Lemon Verbena research. To participate, you and your child will need to complete a telephone eligibility check (approx. 30 mins) and attend four sessions in our Newcastle city centre lab, consisting of one 2-hour visit and three 1.5-hour visits, all out of school hours. Additionally, there will be a few short at-home assessments via smartphone or computer.

As a thank you for your time and participation, participants will receive £120 in Love2Shop vouchers and parents will receive £30 towards travel expenses. Free parking is also available on campus, subject to availability.

Our study has been approved by the University Ethical Approval System (49191) at Northumbria University, has been fully risk assessed, and all staff have received DBS clearance.
