The history of nursing at Northumbria University

Northumbria is the largest university in the North East of England, with a broad portfolio of courses and a rich cultural diversity in its student population. Today, Northumbria has a student population of more than 33,000 students from 135 countries.

Since its foundation in the historic City of Newcastle upon Tyne, the University has developed into a successful institution with strong international connections. We work in partnership with local, national and international services and organisations to produce independent healthcare professionals who are competent, confident and compassionate and able to meet – if not exceed – the professional, statutory and regulatory body standards required of them.
