Who Is.. Sophie Coombs

Sophie Coombs, Innovator in Residence

Sophie Coombs [she/her] joined the Northumbria School of Design as an Innovator in Residence in November 2020 shortly after graduating with distinction from the Multi-Disciplinary Innovation MA. Prior to her studies in innovation, Sophie studied a combined honours of Psychology & Business at Newcastle University.

As Innovator in Residence, she has been involved through much of the latest iteration of Creative Fuse, particularly in facilitation of the delivery of the ‘Get Ready to Innovate’ & ‘Get On and Innovate’ rapid design-led interventions with enterprises from across the North East.

Having only been immersed in the world of design & innovation for 2 years, Sophie is still exploring the many applications of design thinking and creative practices, unsure of what particular field of innovation her path will lead to. Ultimately, her goal is to find meaningful work that enacts social good.
