Dr. Graham Hillier

Graham Hillier Dr. Graham Hillier BMet, PhD, CEng, FIMMM, FIoD, FRSA

Graham has a wide-ranging business career in technology development, innovation and strategy development. He has worked at a senior level in aerospace materials, chemicals, steel and construction. He has also lead a global programme in the development of sustainable buildings. He has a long term interest in low carbon resource efficient sustainable industrial systems.  Until recently he was the Director of Strategy and Futures at the Centre for Process Innovation and was the first CTO of the UK’s High Value Manufacturing Catapult. He was a Board member at Northumbria University for nine years where he chaired the Employment and Finance Committee. He is currently Entrepreneur in Residence at the University, a non-exec Director of Thomas Swan and a Strategic Advisor to CPI and Glass Futures.

Graham has a Degree in Metallurgy, PhD from the University of Cambridge and an MBA.  He is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
