Hello! My name is Amanda and I’m from Malaysia. I’m currently a second year student here and Northumbria University, studying Fashion Communication. I chose Northumbria because of the opportunities it has to offer and their teaching methods. It has always caught my attention and of course, my specific course being recognise by a lot of professionals in the industry is a big plus!

I’m generally a really quiet and shy person when you first get to know me, but I guess that’s the case with a lot of people. Once I’m comfortable with you, I’m probably the weirdest, loudest person you’ll meet! I’m the type of person who will burst out into a song in public mid conversation (because I’m that easily distracted!) or I’ll do it just for the sake of doing it.

I’m really into photography as well and film making. Been filming and editing since I was 9 or 10 years old. I do like being in front of the camera once in a while but my preferred role is behind. I think I have a camera hoarding problem. Since I arrived in Newcastle last year, I’ve since bought 8 film cameras! They’re all from the flea market though so they cost me like say, £2-£10? Honestly don’t think I need that many but they are all too cute to resist!

Another thing about myself is I like to eat, a lot. I can eat 2 large Domino’s on my own, I eat a foot long sub every time I get one and I can eat 20-30 chicken wings in one seating! I think my gut is like a black hole ha-ha! The trick is to exercise so you can eat more.

I’m also really big about travelling. I’ve already been to 13 different cities among a few different countries within the span of a year and have a few planned already. Maybe I’ll be able to show you tips on how to plan cheap, spontaneous trips while you’re here at university!

If you want to keep up with me and what I’m up to while I’m here in university, check out The Hub more often! I’ll share my experiences with you guys and tips and tricks along the way! See you around campus!
