British Society for Geomorphology Annual Meeting 2020

The Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences at Northumbria University is delighted to be hosting the 2020 edition of the British Society for Geomorphology’s Annual Meeting, which will take place from Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th September (inclusive). The conference will follow the well-established format of oral and poster presentations, spread over three days, on a wide variety of geomorphological and geomorphology-related topics. Registration and accommodation costs have been kept to a minimum to promote participation, especially for postgraduate and other early career researchers.

The poster session and conference dinner will take place in the Wylam Brewery Palace of Arts in the late afternoon and evening of Tuesday 8th September. This is a 15-20 minute walk from Northumbria University.

Important dates

  • Call for abstracts opens: early April 2019
  • Abstract submission deadline: mid-June
  • Notification of acceptance :mid-July (at very latest)
  • Registration opens: early April 2019
  • Early Bird registration closes: 31st July
  • Registration closes: 24th August

Northumbria University is located at the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne and is very accessible by motorway (A1), Newcastle Central railway station, and Newcastle International Airport (plus a ~30 min journey on the city’s Metro service)

On-campus accommodation: £45 / night, minimum 2-night stay.
