Our Partners

Working closely with business, cultural organisations and government gives a real world focus to Northumbria’s teaching and research.

Partnership working means that our research has the maximum impact, allowing us to apply knowledge to help businesses and other organisations to develop and grow. It also informs our teaching, preparing our students for employment.

We work with an array of companies and organisations - small and medium firms, major multinationals and key parts of the public sector. This includes Nike, IBM, Nissan, Procter & Gamble, Santander, the BBC, and the NHS. More than 560 employers and 60 professional bodies sponsor or  accredit the University’s programmes.

Our outstanding cultural partnerships in the UK support academic excellence across the University. The award-winning collaboration with the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, the first venue outside London to host the Turner Prize, enables students to develop their practice in a supportive, stimulating environment with leading academics and internationally renowned artists.  Our partnership with the International Centre for Life, a pioneering science village based in Newcastle and a world-leader in stem cell technology, will jointly deliver an Science Communication MSc.

Working with high profile universities around the world enables us to provide outstanding learning for students outside the UK and to undertake internationally excellent and world-leading research. Our international partnerships include the Northumbria- BINUS Design School in Jakarta and working with Kaplan to offer Northumbria degrees in Singapore.
