South Korea

The University has a long history of accepting Korean students onto its degree programmes; examples in recent years include Arts and Social Sciences, Biomedical Science, Business, Design, Engineering, Graphic Design, International Business Management, Marketing and many more.

Students who join Northumbria University will enjoy teaching that is both research informed and practice led, with strong links to industry and professional bodies. Many of our programmes are professionally accredited and give students opportunities to directly engage with real world projects and challenges. Northumbria has strong links with a number of prestigious South Korean Institutions, and especially Chonnam National University, Keimyung University, Konkuk University, Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) and Yeungnam University.

Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.

IFP High School Diploma / High School Graduation Equivalency Examination High School Diploma GPA 2.0, Excellent Senior Middle 2: GPA 3.0
1st Year Undergraduate  Junior College Diploma / associate degree C+ / 2.5 / 75-79%
Postgraduate Programmes  Bachelor Degree (HAKSA)  C+ / 2.5 / 75-79% for courses which require a UK 2:2 equivalent

B / 3.0 / 80-89%  for courses which require a UK 2:1 equivalent
Graduate Certificate Bachelors degree C / 2.0 / 70+%

Actual requirements may vary depending on your chosen course of study and certain courses may have specific or additional entry requirements, full details can be found on our course directory. Decisions for entry will also be based on personal statements, previous study information and not just your final course grading.
