Five Tips To Help You Find A New Direction

Are you interested in studying a masters in an exciting new subject area? Maybe you feel that the career path you chose when you were 17 years old is no longer the best path for you. Should you find yourself in this situation, here are some things you might want to consider:

1 - WHY DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE?

Be clear about why you want to change your career. Doing so will prevent you from running into the same issues in the future.

2 - WHAT ARE YOUR SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES?

Look back at your undergraduate degree and consider what you were good at.  What are you capable of and where do you excel?

3 - WHAT ARE YOU INTERESTED IN?

When thinking about a new career, you need to make sure that it is something you will have a passion for doing. Think about topics you find interesting and what motivates you.

4 - EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS

Explore the alternative routes available to you with your current qualifications, there may be more than you think. Some courses require no prior knowledge of that subject and are open to students from an undergraduate background.

5 – LOOK AT GROWTH AREAS

Are there skills shortages in an area you might find interesting? You could have a look at Government statistics and a browse through job adverts to get an idea of what kind of postgraduate qualifications might be in demand. Discover the top tips on applying for masters.
