Students from mainland China currently account for 29% of the international student population on campus at Northumbria University. Our PRC students are enrolled on a diverse range of programmes including Accounting and Finance, Applied Computing, Built Environment, Design, Education with ChinaLeadership, Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Fashion, Global Financial Management, International Business management, Mass Communication Management, Music Management, Nursing Science and many more.

Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.

For entry to: You will need: Grade Required:
International Foundation Programme Senior Middle School Certificate Successful completion of Senior Middle School 2 with a minimum average of 70% or higher, or successful completion of Senior Middle School 3 with a minimum average of 60% or higher                            
Year 2 Higher Secondary 70% and above
Year 3 Higher Secondary 60% and above
1st Year Undergraduate  Senior High School Certificate  80%
Academy of Art and Design, Tsinghua University 65%
China Central Academy of the Arts (CAFA) - Design Courses only  Two semesters full transcripts including H&C Assessment and Studio Assessment with average 70%
Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology (BIFT) - Design Courses only  All modules with Pass + P in final major project
2nd or 3rd Year Entry (depending on course and subjects taken) 3 Year Diploma 70%
211/985 University 70% average in undergraduate studies
Non 211/985 University 75% average  in undergraduate studies 
Postgraduate Programmes (for courses requiring a 2:2 equivalent) Bachelor Degree (4 Year)  70% for courses requiring a 2:2.

75% for courses requiring a 2:1
Graduate Certificate Bachelor Degree (4 Year)  60%

Please note these are general entry guidelines. Actual requirements may vary depending on your chosen course of study and certain courses may have specific or additional entry requirements, full details can be found on our course directory. Decisions for entry will also be based on personal statements, previous study information and not just your final course grading.
